I have been translating for 6 months straight now! Wohoo!

For the past 6 months, I am proud to say I have consistently churned out 2 chapters per week without interference. No sleeping past the time or exams or personal life, not even my 3 week vacation stopped me from doing my 2 chapters! I should change my slogan to being one of the most consistent xianxia translators on the interweb =)

So next chapter release, I consider it a new arc and to me, it’s pretty boring. I think at least half of you will agree with me but some people might enjoy the drama. Try it out, if you don’t like it, come back in 2 months and it should be up to some more entertaining pieces.

Here’s your first regular chapter of the week, chapter 60.

I’m too lazy to make a reddit account to answer people’s questions there. So in my synopsis for 9HTM, I put in (and fixed) the names of Emei, Kunlun, Wudang Sects persisting to modern times and that confused a lot of people. It’s not mentioned anywhere so why did I stick it in?! In the first chapter, it mentioned Martial Sect was made up of ancient clans and when my father read it, it implied the descendants of those ancient clans survived to present day. Why those? Because the most famous and possibly considered the father of Wuxia author Jin Yong made them up. Many wuxia novels after that referred to those Sects as a common background theme for their books.

This chapter will show that Lei Yu’s world is really just a alternate reality to ours! And it’s also when the author starts showing his dislike towards the Japanese. Here’s chapter 59.

I’m almost done with Deja Vu Ascendancy, gonna need a new novel to read again…

Here’s your first chapter of the week, chapter 56. We could consider this nearing the end of the arc or the beginning of the arc since we’re dealing with an introduction of new people to set us up for the next part of the storyline.

So anyone read Deja Vu Ascendancy yet want to comment? Or too embarrassed? I’m up to the 200’s chapters and enjoying it more now since there’s less sex.

I was browsing some translations, forgot which one but one of the translators said they were busy reading Deja Vu Ascendancy that was completed with 400+ chapters. Always thirsting for new novels to read, I found some links on Royal Road Legends. There was so much sex and taboo themes that I couldn’t handle it anymore, I had to skim through them waiting for the MC’s power to develop. Mind blown. If you guys are bored, interested, curious, or just plain horny, here’s the royalroadl link to the post. You will find links to other novels as well. Nothing to rant about today =)

This is the second and last regular chapter of the week, read chapter 53 here.

So responding to comments a few days ago, I believe my novel has enough exposure because I have about 3500 readers that read it each time a chapter comes out. And I’m estimating there’s a few thousand readers who save up X amount of chapters before reading it all at once.

The main reason I don’t have any donations is because this novel is just not interesting enough compared to the slew of others out there right now.  Now we come to the underlying issue, my theory being there’s not enough readers out there.

I estimate that there’s only about 10,000 worldwide readers of xianxia novels. How did I come up with this number? If you look at gravitytales.com, they’re the only ones that show how many e-mail subscribers they have (4500). Now there’s probably a bunch of people like me that didn’t subscribe but just visit daily to look, let’s double the number and round up to 10,000.  Out of all the readers, probably only 2% or more donate? So only a few hundred people donate from $5 – $20 per week? If I had money to donate, I would of course donate to the novel I would like to read, BUT, if that novel already has a crap load of sponsored chapters in queue, then I will donate to the next favorite and so on and so on.

So unless the author of my novel starts improving his imagination, I’m pretty much stuck without donations. Unless all you readers start recruiting rich readers, then someday, the money may trickle down to translators of less popular novels like me! End of rant LOL.
