So I caught a huge tiny mistake that’s already been fixed in some of the chapters. The uncle that was nice to Lei Yu is not uncle Bo, it’s uncle Liu! Thanks google translate for screwing me up =P

The story is still a bit slow, mostly background’ish, read chapter 5 here. But I read ahead and chapter 6 has a smidge of action =)

I think I was too ambitious with the translation status page. Hourly updates isn’t possible, so now it’s changed to daily. So just come once a day to that page to see if the estimated release date has changed or not. I think right now, only major life events or donations will affect the release date.

So a little more info about my translations. Chapter releases are somewhat random because I work 4 days , off 2. It’s best to look at the semi-live status page to gauge releases. The average Chinese characters per chapter right now is about 1850. I try to keep the author’s paragraphs pretty much the same, so if you compare the raw to the English translation, it should match up 99% of the time. Occasionally, I will minus or add stuff to the translation to make the author’s idea more clear to English readers. I try to reign in the grammar mistakes, but that’s pretty much out the window. And finally, translating idioms, slangs, and acupuncture points is a pain in the a$$. *kow tow’s to Ren, Flower, GGP, alyschu and others*

I’m what you call an ABC, fluent in speaking Chinese-Cantonese but can barely read and write. I use google translate and a text to speech program with a dab of parents thrown in. Takes me about 5 hours to translate so I’m gonna commit to 2 chapters a week. Thought this would be fun so here we go. Read Chap 1 here.
